LINCOLN — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southern Macon County until 9:45 p.m.

The service in a bulletin said that "at 852 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Harristown, or 9 miles west of Decatur, moving southeast at 20 mph."

Wind gusts of 60 mph and quarter-size hail are possible.

"Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees," the weather service said.

Locations impacted include Decatur, Mount Zion, Harristown, Long Creek, Macon, Niantic, Boody, Hervey City, Elwin and Decatur Airport.
