MATTOON -- The City Council is scheduled to hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, in City Hall to award bids for the 2019 oil and chip street maintenance program.

The proposed bids are for contracting with Earl Walker Co. of Sullivan to furnish and spread oil material for $2.72 per gallon and to spread crushed stone for $14.60 per ton; and for contracting with Charles Heuerman Trucking of Teutopolis to furnish crushed stone for $20.50 per ton.
