CHARLESTON — Traffic was backing up on Illinois Route 130 at Lake Charleston at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, as motorists continued to deal with icy road conditions.
The affected section of Route 130 was at Embarras River south of Charleston. The Coles County Sheriff's Office was on scene at the traffic jam.
The road reopened later in the morning, according to sheriff's deputy Nicholas Clapp. He said both lanes of the road were closed because tractor trailers were having difficulty going up both inclines because of the road conditions.
