At the Town Hall meeting on April 19th to which Representative Shimkus was invited, although he refused to attend, I voiced the following question: "There’s been much concern expressed about the fate of Syrian civilians who were recently the victims of a heinous chemical attack. This led to a counter-attack by the United States government, our military specifically, which it’s very likely you supported Mr. Shimkus. If you are seriously concerned about Syrian citizens, why have you opposed them entering this country as refugees?" It is high-time Representative Shimkus listen to us -- the constituents in his district -- that he may more fully understand our concerns. Just how else does he think this Representative Democracy is intended to work?!
