Owner extinguishes vehicle fire

CHARLESTON (JG-TC) — A vehicle was destroyed in a fire Thursday morning but the owner was able to get it out of his garage without much damage to the building, city fire officials indicated.

The owner had the fire extinguished by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, 825 C St., about 8:15 a.m. Thursday, according to the Charleston Fire Department.

The garage suffered some smoke and heat damage but no one was injured, the fire department indicated.
