CHARLESTON — Glenn Edward Ingle, age 97 of rural Charleston, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at his Brookstone Estates of Charleston home. To honor Glenn’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. 

Glenn was born February 23, 1922 in Mattoon, Illinois, to the late Edward and Mary Grace (Thomas) Ingle. He married Olga Hoops on February 25, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charleston and they were married 52 years prior to her death on December 16, 2000. Glenn is survived by his children, Mary Petty and husband Don of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Fred Ingle and wife Jo Ann and John Ingle and wife Diane, all of Charleston; four grandchildren, Kevin Ingle and Amanda of Florida, Amy Diener and Glen of Humboldt, Angie Snider and Steve of Lerna, Chad Ingle and girlfriend, Jennifer Hicks of Tennessee; and six great-grandchildren. Glenn was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Loving, Edna Stites and Irma Jean Davis; and a brother, Bill Ingle.

Glenn was a life-long farmer and was dedicated to the family farm located north of Charleston. He was a hardworking gentleman who was devoted to his family and was satisfied being in the comfort of his home.
