NEOGA -- Ivan L. Cooper, 97, of rural Neoga, passed away at 8:28 P.M., Sunday, February 10, 2019, in the Heartland Christian Village of Neoga, . He was born May 31, 1921, in Cumberland County, the son of James A. and Ella A. (Hatten) Cooper. Ivan married Myrna Alice Walker, October 27, 1940, in Toledo. Mrs. Cooper passed away March 12, 2014. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Neoga, a member of the Masonic Lodge # 834, and a member Eastern Star Chapter # 231, both of Toledo, , a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite of Danville Consistory, a farmer and he retired from the maintenance department at Trailmobile Corp. of Charleston. Ivan also owned and operator the Cooper Trailer Park of Toledo.
Mr. Cooper leaves four children, Joann Burton (Bob) of Toledo, , James Cooper (Celeste) of Joliet, , David Cooper (Sandy) of Mt. Zion, and Karen Humphrey (John) of Decatur, ; brother, Lowell L. Cooper (Alice) of Philo, ; sisters, Elsie Phillips of Neoga, and Lois Massey of Effingham; ten grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and one step great great grandchild. Mr. Cooper was also preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Dan Stoner: brothers, Leslie, Jessie and Donald Cooper.

A Celebration of Ivan's life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 16, 2019, in the First Christian Church, Neoga, , with Pastor, Mel Workman, Rev. Chuck Bartlett and Chaplin Parker Boothe of Heartland Christian Village, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M., to 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 15, 2019, with a Masonic Service at 7:30 P.M., Friday, February 15, 2019, conducted by the Masonic Lodge # 834 of Toledo, in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga. Visitation will also be held one hour before the services at the Church. Burial will be in the Long Point Cemetery of rural Neoga. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL is in charge of arrangements.
