American students from Kindergarten through the twelfth grade are guided through an increasingly more complicated sets in intellectual activities with the goal to produce an intelligent, thinking individual. Through the teaching of American history and the pledge of allegiance to the flag said each morning the student forms a pride in belonging to this great nation. If the educational system has succeeded the student will graduate as a person ready to take their place as a productive American citizen.
The DACA students have gone through this system and as a result are now as American as any child living on your street or your town. We have made them American, not Mexican, not Salvadorian, but American.
How can anyone be so brutal and hard-hearted that they are willing to send these Americans to a strange land where they would really be foreigners.
