MOLINE (JG-TC) -- Charleston remained at No. 7 in the final girls' basketball Associated Press rankings. Charleston had no trouble with Decatur Eisenhower last Tuesday wining the non-conference game 76-26 to improve to 22-2.

Both Charleston losses were to Effingham falling 53-47 Dec. 4 and 71-61 Feb. 5. The Lady Trojans also beat Effingham once 67-57 to win the Charleston Holiday Tournament. 

In Class 4A Edwardsville, coached by Casey grad Lori Blade, is No. 1 with a 25-0 record.

In boys' basketball although no area JG-TC was ranked or received votes Monticello, coached by Neoga and Lake Land graduate Kevin Roy, is ranked No. 6 in Class 2A at 20-1, while Effingham St. Anthony, coached by Stewardson-Strasburg graduate Cody Rincker, moved up from No. 10 to No. 7 with a 26-2 record. St. Anthony is a member of the NTC along with WSS and Neoga.
