EIU Football vs. Tennessee Tech selected as OVC Game of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference has announced an eight-game football "Game of the Week" package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.

As part of the package, Eastern Illinois' OVC opener against Tennessee Tech has been selected as the first game in this year’s eight-game league schedule. The Panthers will host the Golden Eagles at 4 p.m. on Sept. 28 at O’Brien Field.

The game will be the OVC opener for EIU first-year head coach Adam Cushing. It will also serve as this year’s Family Weekend and Hall of Fame Game. Included in this year’s EIU Athletics Hall of Fame are two OVC record-setting football players in quarterback and receiver tandem Jimmy Garoppolo and Erik Lora.

The eight Game of the Week Matchups:

Sept. 28 - Tennessee Tech at Eastern Illinois, 4 p.m. CT

Oct. 5 - UT Martin at Eastern Kentucky, 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT
