CENTRALIA—John A. Logan defeated Lake Land 11-0 in its first game of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 24 Division softball tournament, but defeated Olney Central 7-1 in the second game.

John A. Logan scored its runs in the first, second and sixth innings.

Abe Lee, a Mattoon grad,  took the loss allowing four hits and four runs, two earned, in the first one and a third innings while striking out one batter.

Frankie Izard and Delanie Johnson each got a hit for the Lady Lakers.

In the second game Olney scored its only run in the second inning and led 1-0 until Lake Land scored six in the fourth and wrapped it up with a final run in the fifth.

Rachael Quaritsch hit a triple for the Lady Lakers and Johnson doubled. Lee got the win allowing five hits and one run while striking out six in seven innings.

Lake Land is now 47-16 and plays again Tuesday as the tournament continues.
