Lake Land women win
OLNEY — In a rescheduled Great Rivers Athletic Conference game from Wednesday night, the Lake Land women's basketball team led 18-6 over Olney Central College after one quarter and increased it to 38-22 at the half en route to a 70-46 victory.
The Lady Lakers snapped Olney's six-game winning streak with the victory and improved to 18-5 overall and 8-3 in the GRAC.
Jamie Sandschafer and Mattoon grad Avery Jackson led Lake Land with 22 points each.
Lake Land is to travel to Kaskaskia Community College Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. game.

Lake Land men drop conference game
OLNEY — The Lake Land’s men’s basketball team lost a Great Rivers Athletic Conference game Thursday to Olney Central College 101-84.
Scott McGann had a double-double for the Lakers with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five other Lakers scored in double figures: Allante Harper had 22 points, Ty Waller got 15, Josh Brewer and Jani Griffith scored 10 points each, and Hunter White had 10 points and two blocks.
Lake Land falls to 9-12 overall, 3-8 in the conference, and hosts No. 2-ranked Vincennes University at 1 p.m. Saturday.
