SOV loses CIC game
SULLIVAN — The Sullivan/Okaw Valley football team has to rest its hope for a win on next week’s game as a 35-0 loss to Central Illinois Conference foe Clinton spoils this week’s dream.
Clinton scored three touchdowns on passes and the other two running.
SOV travels to Central A&M next Friday for another conference game.
Casey-Westfield wins LIC game
MARSHALL — Casey-Westfield won a Little Illini Conference game against Marshall winning 28-14. This win gives Casey-Westfield a five-game win streak.
In the first half of the game, the Warriors held the lead at 28-0.
Marshall scored 2 touchdowns in the second half of the game, putting Marshall at 14 points.
Storm Washburn led Casey-Westfield in rushing yards with 70. Noah Livingston led Casey-Westfield in receiving yards with 32.
This win puts Casey-Westfield’s record at 5-3 overall and their conference record at 4-3.
Casey-Westfield will be hosting Red Hill on Friday for another conference game.
Weather cancels Friday's action for 1A state boys golf
BLOOMINGTON — The Sullivan boys golf team was in contention with a 19-over team score, three shots off first place, but the results from Friday's action at the Class 1A state golf meet at Prairie Vista Golf Course were canceled due to weather.
Temperatures were in the high 30s and snow started to fall in Bloomington. It was heavy enough and the conditions weren't expected to improve enough, so the Illinois High School Association canceled the first day of the Class 1A state meet.
The state tournament, instead of being two days, will consist of Saturday's round. No scores from Friday will be counted, and the 18-hole round Saturday will be the only scores counted.
Sullivan is competing as a team while Shelbyville's Will Leach and Tri-County's Logan Richardson are competing as individuals.
Shelbyville defeats Central A&M
SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville defeated Central A&M 21-25, 25-20, 25-14 Thursday. This win puts Shelbyville’s record at 21-8 and 6-0 in conference.
Elizabeth Bowyer led Shelbyville in kills with 12. Chloe Watson had 18 assists. Alexis Rohdemann scooped up 11 digs.
Shelbyville’s next match is at St. Teresa on Thursday
Okaw Valley defeats LSA in two
DECATUR — OV defeated LSA in two sets 25-18 and 25-11 Thursday in a Little Okaw Valley Conference Northwest division game.
Kate Jeffers led OV in kills with 9. Sadie Zimmerman had 17 assists. April Decesaro scooped up 13 digs.
Okaw Valley’s record is now 16-11, and 5-1 in conference play.
Okaw Valley's next match is a non-conference match Monday at Meridian.
Sullivan defeated by St. Teresa
SULLIVAN — Sullivan lost a Central Illinois Conference match against St. Teresa in two sets, losing 25-8 and 25-6.
This loss puts Sullivan’s record at 0-27 and 0-6 in conference play.
Sullivan will be hosting Cerro Gordo on Monday for a non-conference game.
FARMER CITY — Arcola defeated Blue Ridge 21-25, 25-20 and 25-14 Thursday in a non-conference game.
Chloe Ingram led the Lady Riders with 12 digs. KayLee Hohlbauch scored six aces, while Hallee Gauna and Ariana Warren each slammed four kills. Olivia Key got three blocks and Gaby Becerra had nine assists.
Arcola improves to 7-20 overall, 2-8 in the conference and travels to Uni High on Monday for a non-conference match.
Arthur Okaw Christian defeats Judah Christian
CHAMPAIGN — AOC defeated Judah Christian in two sets with a score of 25-17 and 25-18.
Anna Houk led Arthur Okaw Christian in kills with 5.
Arthur Okaw Christian will be playing at A-L-A-H on Monday.
