MOLINE -- In the first Illinois Associated Press boys and girls' high school basketball rankings of 2019 and the second one of the season, four JG-TC teams are ranked in the top 10. 

On the girls' side in Class 3A Charleston, 19-0, moved up from No. 8 to a tie for No. 4 with Bloomington Central Catholic (17-3). In Class 2A Sullivan, 18-1, moved up from No. 10 to No. 5 and received one first place vote. In Class 1A Tri-County, 16-3, is No. 7 as they dropped two spots.  

Effingham, a team that is also in the Apollo Conference with Charleston and Mattoon, received four votes, good for No. 14 in Class 3A.  In Class 1A Altamont, a member of the National Trail Conference with WSS and Neoga is No. 10 with an 18-2 record. 

On the boys' side in Class 2A Casey-Westfield, 15-2 prior to Tuesday's game against Arcola dropped from No. 6 to No. 8. Shelbyville received one vote, good for No. 22. 

In Class 3A Lincoln, 13-2, and a member of the Apollo Conference is No. 8, while Carbondale, a team coached by Charleston grad Jim Miller, received 5 votes, good for No. 13.

In Class 1A Central Illinois Conference team Central A&M received 11 votes, good for No. 11. The Raiders are in the same conference as Sullivan and Shelbyville.
