MATTOON -- Delainey Bryant and Jordan Sapp had two RBI each as Mattoon defeated Champaign Centennial 8-3 Monday night in the regional quarterfinals.

Mattoon scored twice in the first inning on Bryant's RBI single and Brooklyn Edwards' RBI triple. Bryant singled to score a run in the second, and Sapp followed with a two-run double.

Centennial scored twice in the fifth to make the score 5-3, but Mattoon responded with RBI doubles from Tinley Risinger and Rylee Phillips in the bottom of the inning.

The Green Wave added an insurance run in the sixth on Edwards' RBI groundout.

Bryant had three hits, while Sapp and Grace McDowell had two apiece.

Gracie Dow picked up the win in the circle, throwing four innings while allowing one run on three hits and four walks. Edwards threw the final three innings and allowed two runs.

Mattoon (13-15) advanced to take on No. 1 seed Charleston in the regional semifinals at 4:30 p.m. in Mahomet.
