Stephanie Sams promoted to director of branch banking; Julie Withers named district manager at Midland States Bank
EFFINGHAM, Ill. – June 17, 2026 – Midland States Bank is pleased to announce two leadership promotions within its Branch Banking team: Stephanie Sams to director of branch banking, and Julie Withers to district manager.
Sams brings more than 27 years of financial services experience to her new role, including 15 years at Midland States Bank. During her tenure, she advanced through a range of positions, from customer service representative to district manager for the Southern District. She also served as interim district manager in other regions, providing leadership support to 30 branches across southern Illinois, northern Illinois, and the St. Louis metro area. Sams will help drive strategy and customer experience across Midland’s branch network, supporting teams and promoting consistent, high-quality service.
Withers joined Midland in 2018 as a banking center manager, leading teams in Effingham and Farina before transitioning to Vandalia and Greenville. As district manager, she will oversee locations from Smithton to Champaign, including the communities she previously served. Withers will work closely with branch teams to support daily operations, strengthen customer relationships, and maintain responsive, personalized service.
“Stephanie and Julie are outstanding examples of the strength of our internal talent,” said Min Yun, vice president of consumer banking at Midland States Bank. “They’ve grown their careers alongside our customers, providing a deep understanding of what matters most to the individuals, families, and businesses we serve. That perspective is invaluable as they step into these leadership roles and continue shaping the experience in our branches.”
