Parkland College will offer a manufacturing pre-apprenticeship for students beginning Monday, October 19.
Students interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing can explore through hands-on experiences in welding, electrical, and pneumatics. Participants will also learn more about local career opportunities.
Classes are every Monday and Wednesday from 6–8 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon. Attendance is required at all sessions.
To be eligible to participate, students must be age 16–24 as of October 18, 2026. Participants under age 18 must have a parent or guardian’s permission. Current Parkland manufacturing or ECCA manufacturing students are not eligible to participate.
Interested students are encouraged to submit an interest inquiry form and attend an enrollment meeting with a member of Parkland’s Workforce Development team. Instructions will be emailed. Participants under age 18 must bring a parent or guardian to the meeting.
All students who submit inquiry forms will receive an email notification with their eligibility decision by Friday, October 16.
Limited spots are available. Priority is given to applicants who demonstrate a clear interest in manufacturing and a commitment to completing all program requirements. The program will last until Monday, November 23.
