NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team secured 29 points and a seventh-place selection in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Coaches Preseason Poll Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Wheaton, the reigning CCIW Tournament champion, took home first-place recognition with 64 points and all eight first-place tallies. Augustana closed in second with 55 points and one first-place vote. Carthage and North Park tied for third, each with 42 points. North Central, last year's CCIW Tournament finalist, was slated fifth with 37 points. Carroll took sixth (30), followed by the Titans with 29 points in seventh. Millikin (17) and Elmhurst (8) rounded out the poll in eighth and ninth, respectively.
The Titans return five of their top six lineup spots from 2024-25, including their three-time All-CCIW honoree, senior Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood). Last season, IWU finished with a 12-6 record, marking the most wins since 1991. The Titans bring in a strong freshman class that contains five Illinois High School Association state qualifiers.
