KENOSHA, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team completed play at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Individual Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 12, hosted by Carthage College.
Freshmen Weston Lange (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) and Tommy Sopko (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) finished in seventh place at No. 2 doubles, defeating Sandelin Carl Algot and Nate Christensen of Carroll, 8-6.
In singles, freshman Umar Bajwa (Wheaton, Ill.-St. Francis) secured fifth place with a day-two straight sets win over Carl Algot at No. 1 singles. Fellow freshmen Daniel Canivez (Champaign, Ill.-Champaign Central), Brendan Wong (Edwardsville, Ill.-Edwardsville) and Lange each collected their first collegiate singles wins.
